For the past 80+ years, the Boys & Girls State program has been training young men and women in citizenship, leadership, and public service. Each June, nearly 1,000 high school juniors attend the program from every corner of the state. During the week, they gain a better understanding of our political system, the principles of democracy, and their own capacity for leadership and community service. This is accomplished through interaction among themselves, the all-volunteer staff, and prominent guest speakers.

This year’s historic session was held June 11-18, 2022 on the campus of Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO.  This marks the first year that the Boys State program and the Girls State Program were held together on the same campus, and the first year the programs were moved to Lindenwood University.

The American Legion Boys State of Missouri and Girls State is an eight-day, hands-on experience in the operation and fundamentals of government, and draws together the best and brightest high school students to help lead them down the path to individual success and leadership.
